Year 12 students head to Canada for Canoe Kayak Polo Competition

Year 12 students Sam and Ollie had an amazing opportunity recently to head to Edmonton, Canada, with their team and play against a host of other teams in the Cup of the North Canoe Kayak Polo competition. They played in the top Division A and results were as follows:

·         Great White Buffalo – current and ex-Canadian full men’s squad players – they lost 8-1 to this team

·         Canadian U21M (2) – Canadian U21 men’s squad (they entered 2 teams) – they won 3-2 against this team

·         Pelicans (from San Francisco) – they lost 5-3 to this team having been 3-0 ahead; Ollie scored a hat trick

·         Aquabats (from Texas) – they lost 6-1 to this team

·         NECP (from Boston) – they won 9-2 against this team

·         Canadian U21M (2) – Canadian U21 men’s squad (for placing) – they won 3-2 against this team again

·         Red Beardians (from Calgary) – they lost 5-3 to this team

Overall, they placed 8th out of 16 teams and their coach was extremely pleased as they played against teams with a number of Canadian and US full and U21 squad members.
