We are delighted for Celeste, a talented A Level Fine Art student from Chis and Sid who was been selected for this prestigious prize. All 20 finalists can be located on the Saatchi’s web site. Celeste produced the work, described as a canvas fabric relief piece (Twisted 1 – 1m x 1m) during her self-determined brief into creative problem solving during Component 1. It is a mesmerising artwork.

‘’We are delighted to announce that Celeste Treloar’s artwork ‘Twisted 1’ has been shortlisted for the 2017 Saatchi Gallery Art Prize for Schools. Many congratulations!
This year’s judging panel consisted of Alice Anderson, Artist; Alistair Hicks, Writer and Curator; Nigel Hurst, CEO of the Saatchi Gallery; Megan Piper, Gallerist and Founder of The Line; Dea Vanagan, Curator and Director, Hauser & Wirth Somerset. Your student’s work has been selected for the shortlist from over 24,000 artworks!
The exhibition of 20 shortlisted works will take place 4th-13th July 2017 at the Saatchi Gallery, London. The winner and runner up prizes will be announced at 7pm on the 4th July at an awards evening’’.
This is the second time the Art Department have had a student nominated by the Saatchi Gallery for the Schools Art Prize- the last time being in 2012.
