On Friday 10th March, fifteen GCSE Dance students and fifteen Year 9 Dance students accompanied Mr Tolley and Miss Caudle to Europe’s biggest Dance convention, Move It! 2017 at The Ex-Cel Centre. All had a great day and the students were perfect ambassadors for the school. They took part in two classes led by industry professionals and got the opportunity to watch breath-taking performances from some of the best performing arts schools and dance companies in the country. One of our students was even scouted for a competition because of her dancing in one of the classes!
The future is looking bright for CSGS Dance! Here’s what some students had to say about the trip:
“Move it was an amazing experience, it gave an insight to the industry and emphasised the passion for dance that so many people have. The best part of the trip had to be the classes, as they introduced us to different styles and enabled us to get involved.”
“It taught me to push myself”
“The best bit about the whole trip was probably learning so much from the professionals there, about certain styles, how they operate, what can make you a better dancer and how to have more confidence in yourself!”
“As soon as I walked in, the atmosphere was incredible, and it was great to see (even in the classes) the calibre of dance, and lastly seeing the dances on the main stage really inspired me, and it makes me want to push myself so maybe in the future I could get on that stage too.”
