Congratulations to Megan in year 9, who has won a prize in the Mayor of London’s Fourth Plinth Schools Award 2017. Megan created her own outcome called ‘The Queen’s Tea’.
Every year London’s primary and secondary school children are invited to create artworks, inspired by the commissions for the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square and London life. Art Club have been creating their own artwork for the competition. Students have been working on an outcome based on their own opinions of life in London.
The work will be professionally photographed for a display at City Hall, where the winning entries will be shown from 24 April to 30 June 2017. There will be winner and runner-up prizes awarded for different age categories as well as for the best work from each borough. Winners will receive a prize of art materials, courtesy of Cass Art Supplies, presented by a range of judges including artist David Shrigley who is the current commission for the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square.
