Headmaster’s Summer Update

This term has had the annual examinations for all children  which is as always a very busy period for everyone at school.  It is pleasing to say that the current Year 7 children have successfully come to the end of their first year at CSGS, while the Year 13s have reached the end of their educational journey at school and are now ready for the next step in their lives. The rest of the school are now ready to move onto their new school year in earnest.

Sadly we are saying farewell to the following staff:

  • Mr Dunne (Curriculum Leader of Music)
  • Mr Oniasanmi  (Curriculum Leader of Physics)
  • Ms Cullen (Head of Learning & English teacher)
  • Mr Stackhouse (English teacher)
  • Mrs Schweitzer (Mathematics teacher)
  • Mrs Gower (PE teacher)
  • Ms Toppin (English teacher)
  • Ms Deen (Humanities teacher)
  • Ms Heylen (Languages teacher)
  • Mr Kay-Bradley (Music teacher)
  • Mrs Gillham (School Office Administrator)

On behalf of the school I would like to wish them well for the future and thank them for all their hard work.

I would like to welcome the following new staff who will be with us in the new year:

  • Mr Bangalie (Premises Site Assistant)
  • Mr Jolin (Economics and Business teacher)
  • Mr Penna (Physics teacher)
  • Miss Kalnins (Music teacher)
  • Miss Bunn (PE teacher)
  • Miss Ruhla (French and German teacher)
  • Miss Williams (Mathematics teacher)
  • Dr Pluta (Music teacher)
  • Mr Rogers (English teacher)
  • Mr Kerrins (Geography teacher)
  • Mr Carey (English teacher)
  • Mr Lannigan (Mathematics teacher)

It is fair to say that the last few weeks have had very wet weather and as I write this article the weather is warm and the forecast for the next few days is very warm. I am sure you agree that the overdue summer weather has been quite late and I hope that it continues into the summer holidays. On that note I would like to wish you all a very restful and safe summer holiday and look forward to welcoming you all back in September.
